Nitin Kumar serves as Lead Data Scientist at TATCS, where he leads initiatives in artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and data science innovation. With a strong background in R&D prototyping, health informatics, and public sector data interoperability, Mr. Kumar applies advanced research methodologies to support mission-critical programs across federal agencies.

Mr. Kumar has partnered with agencies such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to design AI-enabled solutions, develop data workflows, and integrate intelligent systems. He has delivered proof-of-concept solutions, technical white papers—including contributions for cloud service providers such as AWS—and minimum viable products (MVPs) that align with evolving government data strategies. He has also served as a peer reviewer for the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI).
His areas of specialization include Generative AI, natural language processing (NLP), and production-ready large language model (LLM) architectures. Mr. Kumar brings expertise in Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) frameworks, scalable AI infrastructure, model optimization, and AI governance.

He holds a Master of Science in Information Systems Management from Carnegie Mellon University.
